How to Use Bergamot

Bergamot is a fruit that looks a little like a lime with a lighter green color and tart citrus taste.

It is within the citrus family.

Bergamot was an ingredient in the first perfume ever made and is still used today as an ingredient to Earl Grey tea.

Where it comes from

The Bergamot sold through doTERRA comes from Italy where the climate is ideal for this fruit to flourish.

This oil is cold pressed from the rind of the fruit to deliver some wonderful citrus related benefits to our health.

Top Uses

Addictive Behaviors

Applying Bergamot to the bottom of your feet can help support you while going through addiction recovery. It can also be diffused to provide aromatic support.

Insomnia

Diffusing Bergamot in your bedroom can help improve the ability to get to sleep. It is a very relaxing and heavier oil that relaxes the mind and introduces slowness of our movements.

Joint and Muscle Cramps

By applying Bergamot with a lotion or fractionated coconut oil you can relieve cramps experienced in joints or muscles.

Coughs, Infections and Bronchititis

This is a wonderful citrus oil to use when you have respiratory infections. It is light enough to be diffused and help relieve the soreness from coughing.

You can also apply the oil to the chest with lotion or fractionated coconut oil to help loosen mucus.

Oil Control, Eczema and Psoriasis

Bergamot is great at fighting oily skin and breakouts. It also helps with extreme dryness such as when you have eczema.

Include this in your lotion or moisturizer to help balance the skin and soothe irritated skin.

When there is a loss of appetite and someone you love is not eating properly or skipping meals, Bergamot can help support them.
