Dragging and Sluggish – Transitioning to Spring

For those of us that have to change the clocks each Spring and Fall, it can take while to adjust our bodies. This is a shocking transition for many of us, especially children.

It’s hard to go asleep “on time” and it’s tiring in the morning to be waking up “earlier” with the clock set an hour earlier than it was previously. It’s estimated it takes 2-3 weeks for the majority of people to completely adjust to this change in time.

There are a few oil blends I’m trying to help transition our family a little easier into this new time shift.

Bedtime Relaxation

Before going to bed, it’s important to obviously stick to your normal routine, only doing so an hour earlier than you were before. I’ve also found boosting the oils I use to promote relaxation and using more complex blends is helping. Here are a couple diffuser blends I’ve tried.

Serenity-Patchouli-Breathe

Together these 3 oils in a diffuser are complex and comforting. They relax the mind, ease stress and encourage us to breathe deeply.

Serenity is an oil blend contains Lavender as well as other oils known for their relaxation properties.

Breathe is also a relaxing oil that promotes deeper breathe. It is often used in yoga and for respiratory treatments.

Patchouli is known for its complex fragrance that promotes relaxation, ease of stress and uplifting emotions.

AromaTouch-Breathe

AromaTouch is a massage oil blend but is also wonderful in the diffuser.

Mixing AromaTouch and Breathe in a diffuser creates a relaxing and detoxing feel to your room that can promote sleep.

Morning Boost

Until we “get used” to the new time change, diffusing and applying oils in the morning can help get us ready for the day.

Peppermint is good for increasing focus, giving an energizing boost to our bodies. Put a single drop in your morning coffee.

Lemon in a glass of water first thing in the morning is also a very good way to awaken your body and start the day out with a healthy dose of citrus that will detox your system and prepare it for the day.

Diffusing oils can also help rev our bodies and minds a little earlier than we are used to.

Lemon-Rosemary

These two oils together promote peace and positivism in the morning that can help boost your mood and help you awaken gently.

Morning Sunrise Crush

To crush your morning with energy, diffuse these oils together.
