Most of us are familiar with geraniums as a part of our summer gardens and patio flowers. These tough bug resistant plants offer blooms all spring until well into fall. In some areas the plant can be a perenial offering year after year of fresh flowers.

Where it comes from
Geraniums used in making doTERRA’s essential oil come from the Republic of Mauritius. This is a French republic island off Africa’s coastline. The island is part of the Mascarene Islands and is approximately 790 square miles in size.
Geraniums love the warm, coastal climate and soil provided on the island where they thrive naturally.
The leaves, rather than the flowers are steam distilled to create the essential oil.
Top Uses
Liver, Gallbladder, Pancreas and Kidney
Applying geranium essential oil over these areas or taking the oil in a capsule internally can help support the functions of these organs.
Cuts, Wounds and Bleeding
Geranium can be used to stop bleeding as well as restoring blood flow. Apply gently to the area effected.
Hormonal Balance
Used in conjunction with Clary Sage, Geranium can help support hormone shifts through a woman’s cycle and during menopause.
Dry and Oil Skin & Hair
Applying Geranium to your hair, scalp, face and body can help your body retain moisture and control oil.
